With another summer season up and running it is always exciting to see how God will use our team. Though faces and personalities change, the vision of this ministry remains constant and we continue to see the Lord's favor in our work with the youth we come in contact with.
Many do not realize that our work together as a team starts several weeks before our first event. Every year we take time apart to reflect and prepare for the upcoming summer during our staff retreat. We spend time in discussion, prayer, meals, and games, growing closer as a group and preparing our hearts and minds for another summer season of ministry. For the past several years, part of this trip has included exploring God's creation at Ricketts Glen State Park. Witnessing the beauty of natural waterfalls being sheltered by large hemlock trees is a true testament to the majesty of our heavenly father.
For some of us, we take this hike as an opportunity to truly experience creation in a hands on kind of way...
And for others, it is an opportunity to stand back and take everything in...
But, regardless of the way we choose to "experience" the falls, we leave with the refreshing feeling that we have witnessed the beauty of God in a tangible way. We see it as a blessing to be able to participate in the work that God is already doing and are invigorated for another great summer of camps, missions, rallies, and music festivals.
